ONTHESUNNAH

Defining Islam:

 

Islam means for you submit your will to Allah, by making your worship sincere and pure for Him alone, by obeying Him, and by keeping and avoiding shirk and it people. Shirk (to associate partners with Allah in worship).

 

Allah says in the Qur'an:

 

"And they worship other than Allah that which neither harms them nor benefits them, and they say, "These are our intercessors with Allah " Say, "Do you inform Allah of something He does not know in the heavens or on the earth?" Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him." [10:18]

 

And His statement:

 

"Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves..." [3:19]
